AIR QUALITY SURVEY
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems are breeding grounds for micro-organisms. Exposure to high levels of micro-organisms causes health issues.
Itchy eyes, respiratory problems, headaches, stomach aches and dizziness are often caused by an unhealthy indoor climate. SGI Compliance can help improve the climate, starting with air quality testing. Using certified testing equipment, we take room samples, the microbiological properties of which are analysed in our laboratories. Based on the results we put forward improvement or maintenance proposals. Microbiological, chemical or physical air testing may be part of a more comprehensive survey. The scope can also be extended to hygiene, thermal comfort or indoor climate surveys.
THERMAL COMFORT SURVEY
Cold or warm temperatures, draught and humidity are often-heard issues affecting health and productivity in the living space or workplace.
Stiff muscles caused by draught, loss of concentration due to warm temperatures: thermal comfort affects people’s health and the way they experience their living space or workplace. Based on Fanger’s thermal comfort model, SGI Compliance’ thermal comfort survey shows the user’s perception of the indoor climate and the resulting degree of dissatisfaction. NEN 7730 indicates the optimum balance of factors, such as clothing insulation, level of activity, radiant heat and air temperature, air velocity and relative humidity.
DRY MIST DISINFECTION
The extreme difficulty of controlling airborne infections has received renewed attention due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Viruses and high levels of micro-organisms – bacteria, yeasts and moulds – in the air can cause infections and other health issues. In cooperation with Rentacs, SGI Compliance has developed ‘DRY MIST’: a system dispersing disinfecting mist, which sanitises air and surfaces. Pre and post treatment analysis of air and surface samples shows the effectivity of ‘DRY MIST’.
