    Sectors

Creating a safe living environment is essential, but hardly easy. Sector-specific national and international legislation, and the ever-changing understanding of potential hazards result in complex dynamics. SGI Compliance unravels the complexity. Our experts know the risks and sector-specific regulations. With their knowledge and expertise they can help and advise.

To protect man and the environment, the standards for a healthy and safe living environment are high. Potable water systems and installations are, for instance, governed by watertight legislation. Poor water quality can, after all, constitute a serious public health hazard, such as Legionella contamination. Excellent monitoring of potable water quality requires specific expertise. And new insights result in changing requirements. Take asbestos or Chromium (VI). Used widely as (building) materials at the end of the previous century, we now know that processing can result in the release of noxious fibres (asbestos) and fumes (Chromium (VI)). This underlines the importance of an expert risk assessment when undertaking demolition or renovation work. In addition, Corporate Social Responsibility standards become increasingly stringent. Think of the employer’s duty of care for employees, e.g. in terms of internal environmental quality. And the fire safety of buildings, or the detrimental environmental impact of the use of hazardous materials. For over thirty years, SGI Compliance has adopted a pragmatic and targeted approach to address Health & Safety issues. Particularly in the sectors property, industry and maritime/offshore. Our experts take on the challenge, combining knowledge of legislation with a thorough understanding of the risks and interests.

    INDUSTRY AND ENERGY

Industry and the energy sector need innovative and pragmatic solutions for the inventory and removal of hazardous materials.

Employees’ health and the environment may not in any way be endangered by the presence of hazardous materials such as asbestos. At the same time, business operations may not be disrupted by testing or removal work. At SGI Compliance we offer the specific expertise and experience needed for each assignment. We provide fully customised services for the removal of hazardous materials with minimal disruption, securing health and safety.

    MARITIME AND OFFSHORE

International regulations govern the safe handling of hazardous materials during the entire life cycle of a ship.

In accordance with IMO regulations, the Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) identifies the presence of hazardous (waste) materials. SGI Compliance’ experts carry out IHMs globally: offshore, on board ships in port or at sea. Training in handling hazardous materials is often included. The digital IHM reports cover the ship’s life cycle and, like the occasionally compulsory asbestos-free declaration, can be included in a maintenance or management plan.

    PROPERTY

As a property owner, you do not want the use of your buildings to be threatened by hazardous or unhealthy situations.

Having managed numerous successful policymaking and risk management projects, SGI Compliance has extensive experience of the property sector. We ask the right questions, are flexible, have experience of large or media-sensitive projects and are versatile. We monitor everything, from transport and relocation to cleaning and logistics. On request, we also provide community information to users of homes, commercial properties or public buildings.
